Fact! Ireland has one of the worst road death statistics in Europe. The Essential Driver Training Syllabus was brought in by the Road Safety Authority to aid combat the problem.

The EDT consists of 12 compulsory lessons that must be delivered by a RSA approved driving instructor to all learner drivers.

This 12 lesson syllabus has been designed to ensure young drivers practice vital driving skills and develop a more comprehensive understanding of road safety.

The Driving Test: Crucial preparation
